The Lee family feud has affected Singapore’s reputation and Singaporeans’ confidence in the Government, said Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on Monday (19 June) as he apologised to the nation.

“And as the eldest of the siblings, it grieves me to think of the anguish that this would have caused our parents if they were still alive,” PM Lee said in a video statement posted on his Facebook page. PM Lee said Singaporeans have been “disturbed and confused by news of the private dispute between my siblings and me.”

Parliament is the highest law making body in Singapore, and laws enacted in Parliament are binding on the courts, including even the highest court.

Therefore, in a serious allegation of the abuse of power, the place to hear this had to be none other than Parliament, in which even Low Thia Khiang gave PM Lee the benefit of the doubt, that there was no abuse of power on the part of PM Lee.  Get it?

The family quarrel was a private matter which PM Lee did not make public.

It was Wei Ling who fired the first salvo by calling him "dishonourable son" in public.  She is the one who should apologise if she still can. It is dishonourable of her to wash dirty linens in public which diminished the good name of LKY.

It is also dishonourable of LHY to lie under oath, for everyone to know that LKY had such a son who would lie, something which LKY would not tolerate, he being known to be a man of the highest integrity.

The apology by PM Lee shows what a big man he is, when he did not spill no shiat about the family feud.  It was his younger siblings who did, but as the eldest son, he took it upon himself to say sorry on their behalf.  The ones who should be saying sorry should be these two.
