Amendments - different from enshrining the definition of marriage in the constitution

if they were sincere, they would had enshrine the definition of marriage in stone in the constitution.
Rather than to shift the powers from the courts to parliament.
Which means that if the parliament turns LGBT, the definition of marriage changes, and there is NOTHING that the citizens or even courts can do about it?!
Scary yes?
