No wonder I couldn't laugh at American jokes. Their style of jokes is to be insulting and sarcastic and when you take offence, they'll say, it's only a joke, making you look very petty-minded.

You are conflating 2 things here -

1. Chia maybe a ex-SGrean - but  her stand-up comedy is given in the context of presenting a "SGrean" view on MH370 and M'sia itself.
2. SG gov is very very keenly aware of social media, MSMS and public opinion in neighboring countries view on the Little Red Dot.

Those last 3 words itself were invented by one of our nearby country...and it wasn't a complement.
