EPL-2021/2022 Start Today- Who will be the Champion

A. Madrid 1 MU 1

MU earned a narrow draw late in second half after Bruno pass found Elanga who sold a dummy n completed the scoring with composure... with every game passing by certainly MU has found a better replacement for Greenwood as Elanga cements his place in d forward position...
MU took their chances in this tie with the only scoring chance and an away goal advantage to Old Trafford in d return leag... A Madrid gave it all in this match almost winning the game but found wanting with twice hitting the woodwork... MU would want to forget their first half woeful display... improving only in the 2nd half... this is risky with home tie as MU would need to have a bigger scoring goal in order to have higher chances progressing...
A Madrid n as Spanish team have better technical skills n we could see in Felix outstretched header goal from a cross...

Back to EPL...

Liverpool 6 Leeds 0
Burnley 1 Spurs 0

Massive thumping win for Liverpool as they hit pass six in perfect fashion as they cut MC lead to three points... Leeds was there for the taking as shown by their difference in class ... defence...

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=FZx3mKic6lU

Burnley scored from a set piece and sent Spurs reeling what if they had taken their chances well to win this game... Spurs was not on their day as they missed several chances to win at Turf Moor n further close the gap in top four...
Conte magic waned as they came with a famous win over MC but couldn't carry the run into this game... that's typical of Spurs for fans  Big Grin
With Wolves n Arsenal winning their games they should pose much challenge to MU... anything can happen though... need consistency n MU would have to take every game as it comes with 100% character...

Arsenal 2 Wolves 1

Massive² disappointing loss for Wolves as Gunners nip in late into extra mins with Jose Sà making a one handed save that deflect into his own net...
Credit to Wolves as they scored early in the game and was holding well thanks to a superb individual tight angle goal from Oppa Hwang... pure instinct poacher goal... nicknamed Bull  Big Grin
Arsenal rode their luck late into the 2nd half as they equalised with a Pepe turn n scored beyond Sa outstretched arm...
Arsenal go into fourth spot with this win and gave themselves a boost in the fight for champions league after a lengthy absence

Tomorrow night MU will have to win their game against Watford at home...

Leeds 0 Spurs 4

A huge response to Conte claim that he was not the man for Spurs job... humble pie or mind games at its best?
Nevertheless Spurs can pat themselves on the back with this thrashing of Leeds n threw a lifeline for fourth place...

MU 0 Watford 0

MU missed a host of chances to win on home soil n gave themselves a huge mountain to climb in the race for Champs Leag... with Spurs n Arsenal having more games in hand... a precarious situation for MU...
There were no sharpness in front of goal despite controlling much of the game...
Cr7 saw his effort hit the woodwork ... denied a pk... Bruno put through by Elanga was on the way to score but foiled by Old boy Foster...
Elanga himself almost scored the winner but shot wide off the mark... dreadful...
Watford put up a defensive game plan n had their fair share of scoring chances but heng ah couldn't put them at the back of the net
MU had their arsenal of attacks on the field but perhaps an away Champions league game took their sharpness away  Big Grin

It was a sheer waste of time to watch the match. MU players running around trying to put the ball at the back of the net , they look like headless chickens running around aimlessly. Towards the end of the match Rangnick added Rashford but still could not add to a goal. They will end up 6 or 7 at the end of the season.

tomorrow will be a better day

Liverpool 1 WHU 0

Liverpool did MU a huge favour by piling intense pressure on them as they engage MC tonight late match...

Liverpool cut the lead at top flight by three points as they saw off WHU with a solo goal from Mane as Hammers almost equalise from two attempts in six yard box... foiled by Liverpool resolute defence

With the loss of this game...WHU and Wolves losing succesive matches dented their chances of Euro football... former MU player Zaha was MOM as he scored near the goal line after a tight through ball from the edge and put away a PK to stem a fight back from Wolves in the 2nd half.. really disappointing loss as oppa Hwang couldn't continue his streak..

The honours on MU is now to beat MC and leave a trail for London clubs Arsenal n Spurs to chase n crumble under pressure  Big Grin

Hoping MU can beat MC now that CR7 will sit on the bench. I think this match will be an upbeat for MU.

The other match Arsenal  vs Watford should be be an easy win for Arsenal.

MU was crushed yesterday 4-1 by MC  while Arsenal beat Watford 3-2. With this win Arsenal has repkaced MU in 4th position.

Next challenge will comes from Spurs who will take on Everton at 4.00am.

Both Arsenal and Spurs have played 3 matches lesser than MU and this will put alot of stress on MU. MU will hope that Spurs will underperformed in the match against Everton.

Good luck to Spurs and MU in their bid for 4th position.

It was unfortunate for Watford as they made a fightback in the 2nd half... they created so many chances to level the score n could have held Arsenal to a draw but just couldn't put the ball into the net... many spurned chances...

But credit to Saka  n Martinelli ... brilliant strike n finishing... Great wing play down flank Odegaard... with this win Arsenal have a strong chance to finish top four...

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MD7Vevhh9-g

MU was caught napping with this heavy defeat... surrendering the fourth position
The defence was on Sunday morning tea as MC scored from the set pieces n MU  lost the know how to mark n zone off defending... disastrous... where was the marking n breaking down of the attack... the players were ball watching n expecting one another to do the work! No eye see... appalling performance from... Kevin d bryne just took the advantage n rightfully deserves on the scoresheet...
MC has the bragging rights  Big Grin

Spurs  thrashed Everton 5-0  yesterday and àre closing in on MU and Gunners . Spurs are fortunate to peak at the crucial time in the fight for a place in the top four. Arsenal was amazing to have crawl back to its current position.  They were so criticised in the early stages of the season. Arteta has done a good job and deserved a pat.

Wolves 4 Watford 0
Norwich 1 Chelsea 3
Leeds 0 AVL 3
Soto 1 New 2

It was a lucky day for Wolves at Molineux as they thrashed woeful Watford... things were not going smooth for Watford as they saw themselves downed with three goals with one seemingly nowhere going in net before being deflected past Foster... its cruel for Foster as himself fluffed a back pass n straight into Podence... simply unlucky for d day taking into account how many crucial saves he made for d campaign...
To complete the misery... Neves found himself ample space to chip over Foster to kill off the game... sending Watford deeper into relegation zone...

With this win Wolves are just four points behind MU with same number of games played... MU faces Tottenham next and they are in for a rough ride... Arsenal games in hand n in fourth place... Spurs WHU Wolves can all overtake MU...

Joining Watford is Norwich n Leeds with their respective defeats...
Chelsea was not distracted with the ongoing off field politics as they continued their business to bring cheers to fans n Abramovich ...consolidated their third place standing with an away win to Norwich...

Give credit to Norwich as they were given a lifeline with the penalty and second half substitutions brought much mojo to Watford... but with Mount n Kai running the midfield show n with their clinical finishings in the six yard box one can't fault Norwich for not putting much effort to avoid relegation

MU 3 Tottenham 2

Record breaking for CR7 as he returns from injury with a hat trick! Not an easy feat to achieve 59th hat trick at his age n he keeps going...

Great technique n control outside the six yard box as he received a flip from Fred and bang straight into the left top corner giving Llloris no chance to save... epic goal of the season! Big Grin

The second came down the left flank as Sancho races down n tee off CR7 with a cross that came marginally close to an offside... he added to his tally as MU went in search of a win from a corner as he loses his marker n placed the goal header beyond Lloris...

Tottenham was given breath of hope in the match as Telles handed d ball n Kane took it from d spot... controversially MU was denied an earlier pk when Cr7 hit d ball n struck Dier hand... with MU leading the match Spurs found the space n time to cross only for Maguire to deflect past DDG

Nervy in watching Pogba whenever he has the ball...giving the ball away cheaply n almost helping Spurs to win the match... better to offload him this summer...

Arsenal 2 Leicester 0

Arsenal is on form at the right moment as they beat Leicester with their smooth passing and Ramsdale fine goalkeeping... Leicester aalmost leveled the score but Ramsdale made a class save n thwarted the Foxes...

It was unlucky for Leicester as they conceded a penalty and Lacazette duly put away to lead two goals...

With this win Arsenal leapfrogged MU into top four with games in hand... it will be real hard for MU to consolidate their fourth position...

As MU played A Madrid in Tues return Champs Leag CR7 n team would need to play at their best n progress all the way to final Big Grin

A Madrid 1 MU 0

A barren season for MU as they were ko out of Champions league

Cr7 couldn't replicate his heroics against A Madrid as they saw Elanga missed a glorious chance to put MU ahead with close range at Old Trafford ... in addition some dubious refereeing goes to AM as a clear foul was denied to Elanga in build up to the Rodrigo goal... caught napping as Dalot gave ample of space for the goal Undecided

Can't deny the effort of MU just that the quality isn't there... a great disappointment for CR7 ... breaking record with no trophies to show  Sleepy

MC failed to win against CP and gave a lifeline to Liverpool in the title race... with Liverpool winning against Arsenal the gap at the top was excitedly reduced to a single point  Big Grin

What a challenge MC or should say the Manchester clubs have gave themselves when they could win more points but gifting them away and inviting more teams to replace their positions  Big Grin

Arsenal was sloppy in their defence as they failed to clear both in their own box leading to two close n decisive goals by Jota n Firmino ...sealed the win at Emirates though Arsenal remained in fourth with two games in hand...

AVL 0 Arsenal 1

Gunners further made their case for Champs Leag next season by winning at Villa Park... with a solo goal from in form Saka... this win put them four points ahead of MU who r not playing this week...

Arsenal was in control n able to hold the win to a goal as Rowe Odegaard n Saka run the show in middle ... nullifying Coutinho... though they came close to scoring but never look to have an edge over the young Gunners...

Arteta has certainly brought the free flowing attacking football back ànd next season would b very interesting to look at...

Yup! Arteta has done a good job. Despite all the criticism, he's has build up a young promising team that has proven a force to be reckon with. The management must also be credited for the trust and patience in Arteta and not succumbed to pressure to sack him.  Arteta effort really paid off.

Tonight, Southampton will take on MC in an FA Cup match. Will the Saints be another giant killer tonight. Held MC to a draw or edged them out?

Tottenham 3 WHU 1

A double from Son sank Hammers... a lucky deflection from close range...zouma... n a bad header mistake from the defence allowed Son to take d advantage n completed double... it would b hat trick as one of his shot hit d woodwork

Hammers managed to pull one back and Antonio could have scored but overshoot the post... one could c d lethargic performance as Hammers got a win over Sevilla...

A confidence boost for Spurs but a denting one for Hammers as both London clubs look to gain more points for next season Champ Leag...

Ironic another London club Arsenal is in d driving seat with a game in hand on 54 points with Spurs on 51...
