Gambling: Cambodia and Singapore are most affected
#1

If gambling is officially launched in Thailand, it will be the eighth Southeast Asian country to launch gambling, following Malaysia, the Philippines, Cambodia, Singapore, Vietnam, Myanmar and Laos. In addition, the integrated casino resort in Osaka, Japan is expected to open as soon as the fall of 2030.

The main sources of customers in the Philippines currently come from Japan, South Korea, Singapore and local mass players.

Although some online gambling comes from China, the proportion is relatively low. However, gambling revenue in the Philippines is actually good. The authorities expect gaming revenue to reach a new high of 336 billion pesos (approximately 28.6 billion ringgit) this year, up from 285 billion pesos last year.

Although the opening of gambling in more and more places in Southeast Asia will attract some Macau tourists, since China has stated that cross-border gambling by Chinese citizens is also suspected of violating the law, there should not be an excessively significant impact in the short term, and casinos of large scale and attractiveness will be built. It takes time.

There's no exclusivity in gambling and vices.
They can copy SG for all I care.

It's cool to see the evolving landscape of gambling in Southeast Asia, especially with Thailand potentially joining the ranks. Reading this reminds me of a trip I took to the Philippines, where I witnessed firsthand the bustling casino scene and the diverse array of players it attracted, from local enthusiasts to international visitors.

Speaking of gambling, I recently came across themulligans.org, a platform that offers a unique gaming experience. While it's not directly related to Southeast Asia, it's interesting to see how gaming platforms are evolving worldwide.
