The protests stems from the people's opposition to the governance and dislike of the regime in China.

The whole movement is a popular one supported by many in HK.

It is similar to movement Thailand and Myanmar...where people do not like to live under dictatorship and authoritarian and want their own govt.

Don't forget in Singapore we also had big protests in 1950s and 60s against colonial rule and wanted to be independent.

If it is a small band of trouble makers you can claim foreigners did this and that....but when it is a mass movement of large scale its cause by the people rejecting current  rulers.

I, being poor, have only my dreams; I have spread my dreams under your feet; Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

must see who were behind these protests and the motives, cannot just put them as dislike of the regimes
