Share toilet is the worst nightmare. Most dirty old man will urine at the bathing area or even spilt saliva and their mucus everywhere

Think depends on operator. If the operator does what it is supposed to do, then the cleanliness should be acceptable.

But HK single (married couple too) retirees are now able to move to mainland for much lower cost living with better living environment.
Staying in a mainland retirement village is also way cheaper than employing a caregiving maid in HK.
