I have been watching Taiwan hokkien drama since 1999 even though I am not a hokkien dialect people.

For ROC, I speak Taiwanese or 我只说台语或台湾闽南话。

Why cannot leh. 台湾闽南语also originally come from China. Just like the Chinese dialects we Chinese speak in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand also originally come from China.
