not all taiwanese are against unification peacefully. not all taiwanese want a taiwan as a country.
chinese need to work with friendly people. not work against the whole country. divide and conquer is better then brute force. so is the same with working with us peacefully. there will be people who don't care, people who are along, people who are against china. so far people against china has controlled and move the whole usa against china. work with the friendly one, win the neutral one to have a peaceful world. fight those against who is a much smaller number then facing a whole country.
world peace. good for everyone.

Taiwan people better look at their colour.
Whites see other colours no up.
Now, taiwan is used by US to provoke
China.
Hoping China will fight and be weakened.
If that is not happening, they will try Japan and SK.
Anything to get China into a war.
Just like the Ukraine war.
Russia cannot tahan, so hoot lor.
China wiser.
Weaken the enemy first.

If unification is beneficial,  Taiwanese being practical people will let it run its natural course.

Just like Pueto Rico wants to be part of US....because of economic benefits.

The reason Taiwanese resist unifying with China is they see the negative side and many mainland Chinese bad mouthing Taiwan and threatening Taiwanese rather than listen to their concerns means they will be ill treated once they join back China. Taiwan should strengthen its defense so they can have some control over their future

Taiwan’s economy is highly depending on China….600k Taiwanese are currently working, doing business and living in China. More than 70% Taiwan’s export goes to China, that is why Taiwan made big noise when China suspending imports of pineapple and fruits from Taiwan. Many people dunt know China waives Taiwan goods from import tax and also gives incentives to Taiwanese exporters….Taiwanese companies have made millions in the past 4 decades already.

When China’s economy is strong, Taiwan’s GDP goes higher, when China’s economy is going downhill, Taiwan’s economy will be badly impacted, so will be the GDP.

This CNN report is attempting to distort the situation by making it seem like the key issues facing the ROC military are things like lack of bullets, not enough training, psychologically unprepared etc. The way it comes across is almost like blaming the DPP government and Taiwanese people for not doing A, B, C etc.

Regardless of the politics, the reality is the military and technological gap between China and Taiwan is so vast that nothing done by Taiwan is going to make any difference. The only thing they can pray for is a full scale war between US and China and then somehow US has a totally crushing victory compelling China to capitulate on its claims on Taiwan.

This idiotic article might as well write something like how Saddam Hussein could have allocated more training hours, buy more bullets and better "prepare" his Republican Guards against the US onslaught. Even if Saddam did everything on the checklist, the war would likely have been over in 99 hours instead of 98.
