Future historians may conclude WW3 won't have happen if Putin was able to restraint ultras Russian nationalists like the Wagner group which is hell bent on expanding the Ukraine conflict by bring war to NATO countries - And Poland is one of the primary target.

Unilever to allow its 3,000 Russian workers to be conscripted. Unilever will allow its thousands of Russian workers to be conscripted into the Ukraine war as the row deepens over its decision to keep selling in the country.

The food giant, which prides itself on its “social purpose”, confirmed it was aware of the Russian law “requiring any company operating in Russia to permit the conscription of employees should they be called”, in a letter to campaign group B4Ukraine

Unilever was named as a sponsor of war by the Ukrainian government, after continuing to pay taxes in Russia, Executives from the company have argued “exiting is not straightforward”.

In the letter, issued in response to questions submitted by B4Ukraine, a coalition of more than 80 nonprofits who are urging multinationals to leave Russia, Mr Ecclissato said none of the options it had were “desirable”.

He said there was a risk that by selling the business, the Russian state could potentially “gain further benefit”.

If it closed the business down, Unilever said its business and brands in the country would be “appropriated - and then operated - by the Russian state”.

Mr Ecclissato wrote: “The third option is to allow the business to run with those strict constraints that we put in place last March... We believe the third remains the best option, both to avoid the risk of our business ending up in the hands of the Russian state, either directly or indirectly, and to help protect our people. We will of course continue to keep this position under close review.”

It is understood that if Unilever employees were to be conscripted by the Russian army, their employment contracts would be suspended and wages would not be paid.

Ukraine’s defense minister has admitted the summer offensive is “behind schedule” but insisted it is still going according to plan.

In an interview with CNN, Oleksii Reznikov said he is “not worried,” adding there was a “misconception that every counteroffensive should be quick.”

What’s causing the delays?. Ukraine’s summer offensive has been slow-moving.

Think Russia need to recall back some of the Wagner seasoned fighters back to Bakhmut. It seems Russia regular forces are not doing that well against Ukraine counter-attacks. The sight of the Wagner troops should have some psychological impact on the invading Ukraine troops I believe hence their counter-attacks dented in intensity?

Btw nowadays Ukraine snipers are targeting Russia doctors and medics. The reason is simple kill 1 doctor so many more Russia wounded cannot be saved and later died. This is against the Geneva Convention obviously but who care when in the thick of war. Russia sniper should soon retaliate the same a la tit-for-tat action target Ukraine doctors and medics.

Rsusia Duma has just ruled that Lithuania has no legality to be an independent country.
So Wagner as a mercenary force is the best entity to reclaim this illegal breakaway without having Russia to fight head on with NATO.

Wagner forces are so called hardcore fighters. Without fighting returning to civilian peaceful life maybe a nightmare and they have problem adjusting. So having new objectives give them hope maybe? That is also during war they fight like mad like on adrenalin and even Ukraine troops also admit they rather face Russian regular forces than Wagner forces.

We shall see how it turn out then.

Moscow-backed regional government, said Ukraine had partially breached several sections of Russian defences but was eventually pushed back.

“At least 100 units of armoured vehicles were thrown into the attack by Ukraine on the Orikhiv section of the Zaporizhzhia front.

“As a result of several waves of attacks in the area of the settlement...the enemy managed to wedge in three sections of our first line of defence. “Fighters of these brigades have been trained abroad, and.... are primarily equipped with Western models military equipment, including Leopard tanks and Bradley infantry fighting vehicles.
