Go for $2,000,000

Life threatening and develop PTSD as a result of critical incidents experienced during arrest.

That's everyone's  perception and fear of kiasu so, only claim $20,000 damages just to test the water.

Otherwise, should go for maximum

20k for 1 day padded cell iz over compensation. Even 5 k iz too much. Jeyaratnam was trying to be fair [based on on bdeo evidence ony] but lacked good judgement. For sure the guy iz not right in the head, willy nilly pat a boy on the head and oso act disoriented. If the mata dint apprehend the guy and he later pose a danger to others dan everyone will blame mata. They should better educate mata abt handling psych cases. Should send directly to the right department ie IMH and let the specialists assess his condition. Many tragedies happened in the past bcos mata failed to act in a timely manner. Lessons can be learnt here.

Anyone realize Justice Philip Jeyaratnam is the son of JB Jeyaratnam?

He is the son made good compared to the other one Laughing

He later sued the Attorney-General, representing the Singapore Police Force, along with two police officers: Staff Sergeant Mohamed Rosli Mohamed, who took him into custody; and Staff Sergeant Tan Thiam Chin Lawrence, who interacted with Mr Mah at a police lock-up.

Mr Mah's various legal actions were previously dismissed.

But in a turn of events, the High Court found in a judgment on Thursday (Jan 19) that SSgt Rosli arrested Mr Mah because he disliked him - not because he genuinely believed Mr Mah was a danger because of a mental disorder.

Justice Philip Jeyaretnam found that SSgt Rosli had acted in bad faith in apprehending Mr Mah, but that Mr Mah could not prove his claim of having been assaulted.

I think he could also sue the previous judges in his previous court cases.
