When is SG getting our new banknotes?
#1

Japan just issued its first new banknotes in two decades, yen packed with 3-D hologram technology to fight counterfeiting cultivated for over 150 years. It’s also the first banknote in the world to utilize cutting-edge hologram technology with rotating 3D portraits, which is especially a point of interest.

SG was still using the ship series more than 20 years ago. The Ship Series of currency notes is the third set of notes to be issued for circulation in Singapore. Issued in the years 1984 to 1999, it retains the number of denominations as was in the previous two series of notes, but switches the $20 note for the $2 one.

(Discontinued still legal tender.)

Is the portrait series due for change ??

I think in another 10 years, Singapore might not be using banknotes anymore as the country goes green and digital.  Better keep some banknotes (brand new notes) for souvenir.     Big Grin
