Because the activities are so boring ma. If they have activities like going to Geylang night out or to JB eat out with Karaoke KTV with hostess escort thrown in.

Nope, its depending on one mindset ....negative or positive. 

Like a friend once told me retirement = you are free to do what you want, when you want, how you want 

Sad for many singaporeans ... when we born we are told to chase chase chase ..... when time to enjoy life, dun know how only know how to chase chase chase ........

Take part in activities need to spend unnecessary money. Those retired rich prefer to have their own activities like massage and world tours. Most sinkers would be retiring poor after paying up their HDB with their retiring CPF fund, so where got mood and money to join their activities which I guess organize  by PAP.       Big Grin

The word "retiring" is a misnomer for not working any longer or less active...

So in the golden years one should do "what you want, when you want, how you want" is itself not a retirement but rather learning to move on to another stage of quality life.
