A missile that hit an apartment building in Ukraine's eastern city of Dnipro on Saturday has thus far killed 30 people, with some 40 others still unaccounted for, Dnipropetrovsk Governor Valentyn Reznichenko said on Sunday, reported DW, quoting news agencies AFP, dpa and Reuters.

Reznichenko said on his Telegram account that a search operation, ongoing for over 24 hours, has involved 550 people. They included rescuers, police officers, doctors and volunteers.

On Sunday, a 27-year-old woman was pulled out from under the rubble. She suffered from severe hypothermia and was taken to a hospital's intensive care unit for treatment, Reznichenko said.

The governor added that 39 residents of the struck building were rescued. Of the 73 people injured during the strike, 30 were hospitalized, including 12 with serious injuries.

Over 70 apartments were destroyed by the strike, which was carried out using a Russian Kh-22 missile, the Ukrainian armed force said. The missile is known to be inaccurate and Ukrainian forces lack the necessary air defense to shoot it down.

The more Zelensky screams for weapons, the more sympathy he loses from people.

Keep talking about wanting more weapons, practically demanding it as aid he and Ukraine is entitled to because "they're the ones fighting a war against Russia as a Western proxy", but still holding utterly unrealistic war aims like retaking the whole Crimea peninsula and Eastern Ukraine.

Given what the US has already given Ukraine so far, if Ukraine is still unable to win a counteroffensive meaningfully against Russia, it's entirely because the Ukrainian Armed Forces sucks.

There is no doubt that it was a Kh-22 missile," He emphasized that the Armed Forces of Ukraine do not have weapons capable of shooting down this type of missile.

According to the commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, more than 210 missiles of this type have been fired at the territory of Ukraine since the beginning of Russia's military aggression. None of them were shot down by air defense systems.

The weight of a Kh-22 warhead is about 950 kg. The maximum range is up to 600 km. When used from long distances, the deviation from the target can be hundreds of meters.

"Only anti-aircraft missile systems that may be provided to Ukraine by Western partners in the future (such as Patriot PAC-3 or SAMP-T) are capable of intercepting these air targets.

Fourteen tanks doesn’t sound like a lot?
It isn’t and 14 Challenger 2 tanks on their own are not going to win a war, but it’s the shift in direction that’s important.

Earlier this month, France, Germany and the United States respectively promised so-called “light tanks” – an unspecified number of French AMX-10 RC, 40 German Marder, and 50 Bradley fighting vehicles.

Just for a start... Big Grin

Germany in particular had been reluctant to send fighting vehicles, but every time one of the NATO allies pledges a step up in the sort of weapons it...but the timing of the comments is important.

Bakhmut and Soledar: a Perfect Storm Could Be Gathering. Time is of the essence, as Putin prepares to mobilize another 500,000 soldiers, in addition to the 300,000 called up in October 2023.

The dark heavy fog of and it is becoming increasingly clear all roads leading from Kyiv are strategically converging on Bakhmut and the small salt mining town of Soledar, 15 kilometers northeast of Bakhmut. Clashes of detached Russian and Ukrainian infantry along with exchanges of artillery fire are rapidly devolving into deadly street-to-street fighting, World War I-style trench warfare.

This unfolding fate is luring all competing forces and personalities in this 21st-century war into a perfect storm in and around Bakhmut and Soledar. While the ongoing battles will not determine the outcome of the war, the strategies giving rise to them in Kyiv, Moscow, and Washington might well be determinative.

While Russian Putin, is ordeingr to retrieve his faltering “special military operation,” with new 500,000 to unleashing a calculated new level of attrition warfare by coldly ordering human waves of newly mobilized Russian conscripts to assault Ukrainian. crying

It is true that Russian conscripts’ motivation is worse than that of Ukrainian soldiers who defend their homeland. But the sheer number of Russian conscripts and the military experience that they’re getting do matter.

Plans to send German-made Leopard tanks, wait long long...  Rotfl  and yeah UK Challengers here am coming into Donbas have been greeted with visible excitement by Ukrainian forces, who have been taking heavy casualties in recent weeks and month, around Bakhmut, and, more particularly, during the ferocious struggle for the nearby town of Soledar.

"There were very heavy losses. It's very pitiful. It's hard," said Danylo, an officer in charge of repairing tanks for the 24th Mechanised Brigade. He said the current deadlock would not be broken unless foreign tanks arrived in significant numbers.

"Yes, we'll be stuck here. We need these [Western tanks] to stop Russia's aggression. With infantry, covered by tanks, we'll hope to win for sure," he said.

No tanks is coming "Leopards, Challengers, Abrams - no foreign tank is coming to for us!. We think we need at least 300. And we need them now!" said Bogdan.

The Ukrainians all acknowledged that Russia had more modern tanks but were scathing about their tactics. The Russian tanks are a bit better than ours T72. They're fully modernised, mostly Russians because they push forwards en masse, advancing over the bodies of their own soldiers. Our commanders care more about the lives of their crews, so we try to destroy [the enemy] while losing as few of our own men as possible," said Bogdan.

A more senior company commander in the 24th Brigade, with the code name Khan, took us to a rear position, past fresh trenches being dug in the fields by specialised machines, where several tanks were hidden under camouflage nin a wooded area. Clapping
