"Singapore knocks back AirAsia licence request three times

The CEO of Capital A says the Singaporean authorities have thrice denied it airline licence applications, with Tony Fernandes claiming it is because Singapore wants to protect its own airlines.

“Three times we had applied for an airline licence, three times we were rejected," he told Malaysia's Daily Star newspaper. "We could get other ASEAN countries but Singapore has blocked us all the time because it protects its airlines.""

Thai AirAsia X celebrates first arriving flight as it successfully relocates operations to Don Mueang

BANGKOK, 1 October 2024 - Thai AirAsia X (XJ) today successfully relocated its operations to AirAsia's largest hub in Thailand at Bangkok's Don Mueang Airport, in its pursuit to provide better convenience and connectivity to travelers. 

The relocation was marked with a welcome ceremony for guests arriving on flight XJ761 from Shanghai who were treated to a special celebration organised by Thai AirAsia X and supported by Don Mueang Airport and AOT Ground Aviation Services Co., Ltd. (AOTGA). 

From today, Thai AirAsia X will be operating all outbound and inbound services from Bangkok-Don Mueang, providing greater connectivity and convenience for guests travelling onto other Thai AirAsia or AirAsia Group services from the same airport.
