I know of a guy who can speak thai so no problem with his thai wife. What about those who can't thai or viet?

It solves one problem but creates another when the Viet wife expects the husband to feed her whole kampung back in Vietnam. Then another problem when she gets SG citizenship.

That's a subjective opinion because ceca women have ceca men marrying them. Who is to say that Cecabus are inferior to Vietbus?

And unless you'd been living in a cave in all of your 64 years on this planet, Singaporeans of Indian ancestry had been traveling to India to find brides for the longest taim before independence and till today.  Many of these brides came from the village and they had very little education, and could hardly speak English.  If you ever come across an Indian woman who can't speak English or speaks it with a very strong Tamil accent, she's from India - new arrival, married to an Indian Singaporean.

I don't know whether it's widespread in China but when I was in China, I was told that it was rude to use your index finger to point at something.  I am not talking about pointing at peepur's face, but rather at say, a cai png dish when the jhk asks 还有? and you don't know the name of the dish, so you point at it and say 那个。。。he's about to scoop the wrong dish and you say 不不不。。。and you point harder....左边那个.

So how should you point?  I was told, use your thumb which didn't sound ergonomically right to me.  Try pointing at the alphabet h on your keyboard with your right thumb, and you will know what I mean when you have to turn your whole arm anti-clockwise in an awkward position.

So I suppose you need to be careful with using body language and hand signals with somebody from another culture.  Apparently, your mother didn't tell you that.
