Russian forces have seen their armored might dwindle to point Omg Ladas & civilian vans have become their last resort in conducting vehicle assaults.
This startling shift reveals not only the staggering attrition of their mechanized reserves but a desperate gamble to keep their offensives alive.

Over past 3-years, Russians lost an immense number of armored vehicles due to intensive prolonged offensive, with Ukrainian military sources reporting Russians have lost over 10,000 tanks and 21,000 armored vehicles. Recent statistics also show Russian civilian & all-terrain vehicles makeup increasingly high percentage (%) of these losses, an explanation for which can be found in the example of the now-empty stockpile of MT-LB amphibious armored personnel carriers, as well as dwindling stockpiles of everything else.

Be4 the full-scale invasion, Russians had approximately 3,300 MT-LB vehicles in active service, with an additional two to 3,000 in reserve. Open-source researchers stated that over three years of intense fighting, geolocated footage confirmed the destruction of at least 1,483 of these vehicles. However, satellite images confirm that the storage locations of these vehicles are now empty, indicating that the actual number is likely double that, with the Russian pre-war stockpile completely emptied.

The war saw Chinese involvement, a secret Soviet-American air conflict, & devastating impacts on Korea. Though fighting ended in a stalemate with an armistice in 1953, the division of Korea and its geopolitical tensions persist to this day. The Korean War (1950-1953) marked a critical escalation in the Cold War, driven by fears of Communist expansion. Memories of World War II aggression. It began with North Korea’s Soviet-supported invasion of South Korea, prompted a UN-backed intervention led by US. (Note: War saw the Chinese saving North Korea involvement, a secret Soviet-American air conflict & devastating impacts on North Korea). Though fighting ended in a stalemate with an armistice in 1953, division of Korea, its geopolitical tensions persist to this day.

The invasion on South Korea from today, more than a decade after 40-years Cold War ended with apparent ease, it can be difficult to understand fears drove leaders of Soviet Union, the U.S., & their respective allies to create a highly militarized global stand-off in the years following World War-II. Even harder to understand is why Cold War took lasting shape in response to North Korean invasion of South Korea on 25 June 1950 on Korean peninsula. liberated from 35 years of Japanese rule by defeat of Japan in 1945, was not a central concern of either Soviets or Americans. It hardly figured into discussions of postwar territorial settlements.

Partly reason its joint Soviet/American occupation had ended with unanticipated messy division into two hostile states, post-colonial Korean politics polarized along axis of two occupying powers. By 1950 tension between Soviet-backed Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) in North & U.S. -backed Republic of Korea (ROK) in South regarded as world’s trouble spots, either side in emerging East, West struggle placed Korea very high on its list of priorities.

Nonetheless, Soviet-supplied tanks of the North Korean army crossed the 38th parallel—the artificial boundary between the two states—in early morning hours of Sunday 25 June 1950, the admin of US President Harry S. Truman, as well as the govts of all allied Western powers, reacted with intense alarm. The statesmen had all experienced immense trauma of 2nd World War, ended only five years earlier. Their chief aim was therefore to prevent another such catastrophe.

The surprise tank-led invasion of South Korea, took to Soviet action by proxy, immediately evoked in their minds the piecemeal aggression by Germany, Italy & Japan in 1930’s, b'cos it not been resisted, had culminated in World War II. President Truman wrote, “In my generation, this not 1st occasion when strong had attacked weak (like Putin invasion of Ukraine).

He recalled some earlier instances: Manchuria, Ethiopia, Austria…Communism was acting in Korea just as Hitler, Mussolini, and the Japanese had acted ten, fifteen, and twenty years earlier.” President Truman concluded that if the North Korean attack went unchallenged, “it would mean a third world war, just as similar incidents had brought on the second world war.”

US President’s perception danger, North Korean attack signified was shared by his foreign policy advisers, their counterparts throughout Western world, viewed attack as indicating a dangerous new willingness on part of Soviet leader Joseph Stalin to expand territory under Soviet control.
Beyond boundaries accepted end of the war. Fearing Soviet Union would move next into Western Germany, Iran, or some other soft spot along lengthy Soviet border

President Trump & his advisers unanimously agreed to US military forces to stay in South Korea till is day... Rotfl

B'cos the Truman admin also believed world peace could only be preserved if the newly established UN became an effective defense against aggression, NOTE: They brought Korean issue to UN Security Council. W/Soviet Union continuing its boycott of UN to protest that body’s exclusion of the People’s Republic of China, the Security Council passed a resolution calling on North Korean forces to withdraw and all UN member states to “furnish such assistance to the Republic of Korea as may be necessary to repel the armed attack and to restore international peace and security in the area.” The intervention on behalf of South Korea was thus officially a UN, rather than US, action. With Americans staffed the UN Command, provided overwhelming majority of foreign troops, Fourteen other countries eventually committed military forces: UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, France, Turkey, Greece, Republic of China, Philippines, Thailand, South Africa, Ethiopia & Columbia. History & Public Policy Program primary source record of 20th and 21st century public & policy debates on global affairs.

UN fears of communist expansion were especially acute in 1950 the previous fall the Chinese Communist Party had finally succeeded in coming power in mainland China, forcing the Nationalist troops to retreat to the island of Taiwan. With huge country, China now added to Soviet bloc, feared industrial powerhouse like Japan might succumb next, or resource-rich countries of Southeast Asia. If Soviet-based alliance gained access majority of world’s key resources, it might prove impossible to defeat them should they attack the United States. Since China bordered Korea and had longstanding interests there, the Truman admin that Soviets had planned to attack on South Korea in conjunction with communist govt in Beijing. In order to prevent the Chinese Communists from following the action in Korea with an attack on Taiwan.

President dispatched US 7th Fleet to the Taiwan Straits, beginning US defense of the island that remains single greatest obstacle American relations with Beijing. He also committed US to support French in Indochina, who were fighting against communist insurgents, setting the stage for American war in Vietnam following decade. To shore up Japan against a possible communist attack, U.S. admin began to prepare for a separate peace treaty with Tokyo exclude Soviet Union, whose forces had joined those of the US at the end of the war against Japan. To this day, Moscow / Tokyo have still not concluded a peace treaty, their relations remain strained.

In Europe, the war in Korea led the Western powers to transform the recently established North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) from a loose association into a real military alliance. The perceived need to defend against a possible Soviet attack on Western Europe was so great that NATO members even agreed to the rearmament of West Germany, their recently defeated enemy. In the US. Congress therefore tripled US defense spending, setting in motion the arms race that would continue for the remainder of the Cold War.
