Don't ever think that Satan is mere superstition perpetrated by old grandmothers, or just an imagined creature with two sharp horns and the whole body coloured red to amuse chewren.  That is huat Satan would want you to believe...that he is not real.

Quite the contrary, he is very real, and here on Earth to wreak havoc.

A lot of things, I could not even imagine how they could happen, but they did happen.  Most people don't talk about BREXIT anymore, nobody expected Britain to leave, but it did.  Nobody expected China to be No 2 in world GDP, but now, it would surprise no one if China becomes No 1 in less than 15 years, that is, if the End of  the World does not come sooner.

My forefathers were migrants from China who came to Singapore during the tail end of the Qing Dynasty.  So there is absolutely no reason for me to wish China ill, or to be biased against its people.  In fact, I count the Chinese among some of my best friends.

So, it gives me no joy to say that when the End of the World comes, all (powerful) nations would converge on Israel to attack it.

Like Brexit, like the Russian invasion of Ukraine, like the Wuhan virus, I don't know why this would happen.  Suffice to say that the Bible said that when the End comes, the king of the north (Russia) and the king of the East (China) will move in on Israel, and unless those days be shortened, no one will survive.

UK inflation hits new 40-year high as food prices rocket

LONDON: British inflation surged to a new 40-year high in July on soaring food prices, official data showed Wednesday (Aug 17), adding to a cost-of-living crisis as the country faces the prospect of recession.

UK National Debt Surpassed £1 Trillion

Brits woke up to yet more grim news on inflation Tuesday, with new data showing prices in UK stores are rising at a record pace. It’s the latest sign of a seemingly intractable cost-of-living crisis that has Prime Minster Rishi Sunak considering drastic measures, including price controls, to keep inflation in check.

The cost of store items, known as shop price inflation, rose 9% through the year to May, a fresh high for an index that dates back to 2005, according to the British Retail Consortium. Food inflation dipped slightly to 15.4% in May, but that’s still the second-highest rate on record.
