90% of Vietnamese visa applications for studying in Australia are taking 3-5 months to process, which is longer than usual, according to Renee Deschamps, deputy Australian ambassador to Vietnam.

The surge in applications has overwhelmed the evaluation process, with a reported increase of about 50% from last year, although specific numbers were not disclosed by Deschamps.

As of February, international students can stay in Australia for up to four years after graduation, a reduction from the previous six years.
