If possible, selling everything to MAS as today, there are far better alternative.
Just do it to protect the interest of more than 4 mio CPF members.

agree sell back old lesser yield bonds/fixed income securities to buy new higher yielding bonds. In the bond market, most pension funds play around with such strategies. Bonds market has many maturities, and the bond dealers will keep on utilizing many strategies by switching long dated with short dated, short dated with long dated to show in that year, the funds made huge profits (to get bigger bonuses!).

In the bond market there is the primary dealing market and the secondary market. At Wall St and all other financial centres. Just like SGX retail investors/players do not deal directly with SGX who will only deal with brokers whose accounts are with SGX. Going forward if SSB and other fixed income securities can gather a sizeable figure of a few hundred thpusand millions$ good to have a secondary market for the retailers.

I bought bonds through my stock broker many years ago. But I don't see any sign of them there anymore when I log in.
