1. The non-compete clause protects a “legitimate proprietary interest” of the employer, and
2. The scope of the non-compete clause is reasonable.
It clearly shows that this is not applicable to FTs or PRs. Because once they leave this country, Singapore law cannot reach them, liao.
Or unless the company has a secret or ultra- advance product/ idea that is new in the market and wants to protect. This is not applicable to 99.9% of the companies here.
The scope of the non- compete clause must be proven reasonable which is impossible when the employee has joined a new company. Unless there is a spy in the new company, lor!
Just fck this clause, lah. Singapore is so small and not enough jobs. Non- compete clause may be targeted at VPs/ MPs drawing $2 million per year to survive 1 year without working, not us.

That depends also . Yes applicable to FT but not local Singaporean. See whether the ex-company want to take action boh
