IPhone has led mobile phone trends for last 20yrs. What apple do rest will follow like no ear phone jack, no removable batteries, etc.

eSim is a new trend to make it easy for travel. You just need to load eSim and you are connected. It removes the handling of sim cards and mailing sim card to your home.

By 2027 all smartphones need to have removable batteries. By then Apple fans will say removable battery is new trend.

Yup...most cheap $10 MVNO plans no esim....need to sign up expensive ST, SH, M1 contract plans then got esim...for the rich elites eg. ministers to use only.

I was reading some tech reports ... Apple iPhoney is playing catch up to the likes of Samsung and even the latest Huawei phone.

IPhone was a show off thing of many youngsters. 
Not anymore. 
Now there is competition. 
HW is a smarter phone. 
So eventually, iPhone may be an icon for the dumb.
