This a long lasting conflict.
It is not solved by pushing the blame to one side.

In actual fact leading to last weekend there was unprecedented escalation including storming of the mosque in Jerusalem and killing of civilians  in Gaza.

The student who spoke up should stand his ground and not be afraid.

While the Hamas committed wrongful and violent acts which cannot be excused ...itvis not as if Israel itself was acting peacefully
On further read the criticism is not wrong because of this:

"a vocal and widely reported student groups’ statement blaming Israel solely,"

The criticism is of the school for remaining silent...

However, the converse us also true " solely blaming Palestinans " for the current situation is also wrong.
