I have been prompted by Keppel to sign up for fixed rate at about $30 per month wef 1st January 2024.
Choice of 12 or 24 months .
Discount $60.
Is this a good deal?
Any other better options?

I just renew mine at 28.30 Geneco 24 months. With Israel war coming think oil then electricity won't come down so soon. Renewal come with $30 rebate.
For other company I check today most are at 29.52 with Pacific Light with most pattern plans they got peak and non-peak rates. But I understand smaller player can close shop making it hassle to shop again so I just recontract.
Take note some of those ask you switch over is for first XXX customers I don't like such kind wait I switch over they say fully redeemed how? Anyone switch over confirmed get the rebates can share?

Renewal only and yes gst included. But if you want to save further Pacific Lights got cheaper as their plan got peak and off peak hours rate. You can save monies by sleeping daytime and then night time to early morning hours active if you are retiree or jobless.
End of the day is Monoploy.
on surface Govt claim " competition " so can price vary whatever.
You sure your contract willbe honoured? See what happened to iSwitch customers?

Does it mean come 1st January 2024, 1 more % of GST will be payable?

Not sure but based on past experience either merchant absorb or they will ask us pay I think. E.g now you sign 24 months they based on gst 8%. Say Jan 2024 go up to 9% that 1% we no need pay or merchant in this case electricity retailer absorb I not sure.
