High rentals are causing "shrinkflation" as hawkers cut back on quality and quantity. Customers want value for money so many will vote with their feet and a lot of hawkers will have to close shop for good.

Only the best hawkers will survive as the mediocre ones will continue to struggle producing dishes that just aren't value for money in terms of quality and quantity.

sometimes i find that that food sells  at coffe shop is cheaper than those selling at hawker ctr
why ?

definelly coffee shop rentals (pte owns) definitely > expensive than hawker ctr rental
