or hv to sell much cheaper to lure back customers

As long as the prices are higher than imported ones, local produce will not have the market!
Hydroponic and aquaponic:
Pros: controlled environment, not much pests so can save on pesticides
Cons: unlike soil and other mediums, water does not hv most of the trace elements and microbes needed, so they hv to be added to the water, and that increases the costs
Besides costs, the use of chemical ferterlizers is another concern that put ppl off
local produce are always much more expensive
why go high tech when you can just farm directly from the ground ?
all these fanciful crap only pushes costs higher and selling prices even higher
