A large-scale explosion occurred at the 4th anniversary memorial service for Qassem Soleimani, the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard's Quds Force, killing more than 100 people, and the U.S. government mentioned the possibility that the Islamic State (IS), a Sunni Islamic militant group, was responsible.

According to reports from foreign media such as Reuters, AP, and CNN on the 3rd (local time), two explosions occurred at the 4th anniversary memorial service for Commander Soleimani near the Saheb al-Zaman Mosque in Kerman, southeastern Kerman, killing at least 103 people and injuring 188. Commander Soleimani died in a U.S. military drone attack on January 3, 2020.
