The attack that killed three American soldiers did not take place on Jordanian soil but in Syria, a Jordanian government spokesman said today.
Muhammad al-Bubaydin told Jordanian public broadcaster al Mamlaka that the attack was aimed at the US Al-Tanf base in Syria.
Earlier today, President Joe Biden announced that three members of the US military were killed and several wounded during a drone attack on US forces stationed in northeastern Jordan, near the Syrian border.
A US official told Reuters the number of US military personnel who may have been injured in the attack on a base in northeastern Jordan has risen, with 34 service members being treated for possible traumatic brain injuries.
