Full Version: Medical Tourism no longer a key driver of our economy

Medical Tourism was once seen as a key driver of our economy, but it has been increasingly difficult for S'pore to maintain its position as the leading medical hub in South-east Asia, owing to cost issues. MOH’s stand that private healthcare charges are not under its purview has led to a lack of transparency in private hospital fees, which routinely contain a myriad of hidden charges in inpatient bills. To compound matters, the absence of strict fee guidelines for medical practitioners also adds to heightened concerns of unanticipated costs resulting from complications and overtreatment. Foreign patients are also put off by the costly accommodation and transport here.

S'pore's economy could do with more tourist dollars spent here. We just don't want fake talents coming in to steal our jobs.
we local dont care anymore, we are not the beneficiary.
