In order to mitigate Singapore's hospital capacity crunch, Minister for Health, Ong Ye Kung, announced 4000 new hospital beds and 7 new polyclinics to be opened by 2030.

It is about time! I had a gallbladder removal done in 2022, but the surgeon assured me that it could be done as a day surgery because there were not enough beds at the restructured hospital for me to stay even one night. I nearly collapsed at the carpark and my wife had to rush me back to the A&E. 
And please reduce A&E non- emergency by 80%. I find it absurd that 3 people in the que were far from needing immediate attention by merely queing for X- Rays done for injured toe and finger!
