Under good policies of the Singapore govt my CPF is secure and grown steadily over time with guaranteed returns. My family home has also risen in value.

The same cannot be said of Chjnese in China who experienced losses in the value of their homes and investments in shadow banks due to weak economy..many have also lost their jobs as manufacturing moved elsewhere.
