So you consider Mao Tse Tung also a disgrace lah? Through out his life, Mao was never able to master standard Mandarin but instead spoke his hunan dialect.

In his education time, Mandarin hadn’t been created and widespread, so nobody could teach him and shift his Hunan accent to standard Mandarin.
Nobody know his personal opinion towards Mandarin and simplified Chinese, which deeply changed later Chinese language .In his daily life, he had got used to writing the traditional Chinese , speaking dialects of his hometown, even in the Founding Ceremony( you can search the video online)

Most of the pioneer generation over the age of 90, some still alive, most already dead, cannot/could not speak Mandarin. They speak/spoke mother tongue which was Teochew/Hokkien/Cantonese/Hainanese...

Younger Singaporeans don’t understand lah… uncle Teo was born before the establishment of PRC and before the implementation of Mandarin as standard spoken tongue in China.
