This study really sheds light on how childhood trauma can lead to mental health issues in young adults. It’s important to recognize the long-term impact of neglect, bullying, and abuse.
Childhood trauma can really stick with you, and it can affect mental health in ways we sometimes don’t even realize until later in life. Therapy can be super helpful, especially when it comes to processing those past experiences. If you're in NYC, I’ve heard good things about individual therapy options here—some therapists really specialize in trauma. It's definitely worth looking into! You can check out a few options at individual therapy nyc.

I thought this link between childhood trauma and mental health issues in young adults has long been established? People who experience traumatic events during childhood are at a far higher risk of developing mental health conditions like depression (sadness, hopelessness and low self-esteem), anxiety (fear and worry, making it difficult to manage stress), post-traumatic stress disorder (flashbacks, nightmares and emotional distress), substance abuse (drugs or alcohol to cope) and eating disorders to regain a sense of control.
More than 80% of children in Singapore grow up packed like sardines in HDB flats. They have to jostle cheek by jowl with others on public transport, eateries, malls, supermarkets etc. Is it any wonder that many grow up with mental health issues. Even farm animals living in cramped conditions will end up fighting each other.
