The final Singapore Airlines flight to Chongqing will be on 29th March 2024, departing back to Singapore in the early hours of 30th March 2024, with no further flights loaded in the schedule.

The final Singapore Airlines flight to and from Chengdu will be on 30th March 2024, with no further services loaded in the schedule.

Xiamen flights will also be suspended again later this week, with the final service operating on 30th March 2024, and no reinstatement date confirmed at the time of writing.

While the timing if this latest suspension seems coincidental, it comes just days after China’s embassy in Singapore issued an advisory warning its citizens against gambling there because doing so could violate Chinese law.

The two nations previously launched a mutual 30-day visa free entry scheme in early February, which Nomura analysts said would trigger a significant increase in Chinese travellers to Singapore and provide additional benefits to its two integrated resorts, Marina Bay Sands and Resorts World Sentosa.

SIA is still using 737-8 MAX to fly to Chengdu. It is good that they end their service soon.
