The U.S. Army Pacific confirmed on the 15th that its "1st Multi-Domain Task Force" (1MDTF) recently deployed the U.S. military's new "Typhon" land-based medium-range missile system for the first time during the "Shield 24" bilateral exercise between the United States and the Philippines.

The U.S. Congressional Research Service (CRS) reported that the U.S. Army’s “Typhon” medium-range missile system was developed to respond to the “anti-access/area denial” (A2/AD) threat posed by advanced artillery and missiles from China and Russia.
