The biker was arrested on suspicion of drug offences, carrying weapons and had a string of traffic offences.

"We are in contact with his family to extend our condolences and full support during this difficult time."

I feel that the deceased officer could be a foreigner!
no at least 5 yrs jail fine 10k will not appease the public on such youngsters a totally menace to innocent n lawful abiding road users

the youngsters would hv collided into mother vehicles n caused more chain accident resulting in not only 1 deadth!~
if no such heavy n deterrent punishment the public will question what kind of judge pass this verdict
i think thiis time after this accident  the law minister who is also the home minister will join in to comment  not let the 2 junior minister sput nonsense that the roads comply international std

what the public voiced out is the enforcement not on the road worthiness
such minister of state dont understand the crest of the matter by giving a wrong answer on the accident in tempanies

now that a uniformed govt servant died on  discharging his duty faithfully will hope to wake yhem up.

any smarter officer would just let the youngster fled n said he had escaped
but he chose to fulfil his duty with all his heart n the result is passing misery n sadness to his family
no any amt of  $ compensations is enough to cure the lose of a loved one
Rip to the lta officer
RIP to the officer. But if you watched the video, you'll see that his death is caused by his own driving skills. Of cos, people will say that if the errant rider didn't try to escape then the officer wouldn't give chase, and his death wouldn't happen.

This sounds like one of those official govt responses whether the deceased is a local or foreigner i.e. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the late officer's family and loved ones".

If the LTA officer had recorded the biker's number plate, he didn't need to pursue him like in the movies.
