Cinemas used to be the "go to" place on a date simply because there aren't a lot of things to do in boring S'pore. Outdoor activities are also unappealing in the daytime owing to our hot and humid weather. Nowadays, it seems like youngsters are more interested in being on social media than spending time with real people. Movies may also be viewed at home or at the homes of friends instead of travelling to a cinema. I believe even more cinemas are set to close in the near future.

All thanks to movie streaming services, many many movies can be found at Bukit Timah Hill. Unless the movies in cinamas can show English subtitles for all instead for just the deaf.
