On Dec. 12, Sri Lankan authorities unveiled what they claimed to be the world's largest natural corundum blue sapphire.

Corundum is a rock-forming mineral that has two primary gem varieties — ruby and sapphire.

The sapphire found in Sri Lanka weighs 310kg and is 1.55 million carats, and has been named the "Queen of Asia"

Can you imagine the stories behind it? It's like a piece of the Earth's history unveiled for us to marvel at.
Wow, a 310kg natural blue sapphire in Sri Lanka? That's incredible! It reminds me of the time I stumbled upon a guide on rock polishing techniques (https://rockstumbling.com/rock-polishing-techniques) and tried my hand at it. Though nowhere near the scale of that sapphire, it was thrilling to uncover the hidden beauty within ordinary rocks. It's amazing how nature never ceases to amaze us with its treasures.
Rare earth... so special.
has it been cut already?
