Advanced countries are on 4 days working week.

Most common with Scandinavian and
Some companies in Australia
China got 27 days if I am not wrong.
Bloody stupid to rely on a calendar for holidays. Want holiday just take, like Ah Butt have 365 days every year. Which country can beat that?     Rolleyes
Singapore should have extra holidays eg

Singapore founding father LKY Day
LHL Birthday
Merlions Day celebration

Etc

Some countries also have holidays that only applicable to certain areas within the country nia. So even if all in same country, but only people in that particular few areas get to enjoy as public holidays. Like an AMDK colleague said his hometown got a pumpkin festival that everyone in town will take a day off and go to a carnival to enjoy picnic, games and contests, however this ish only celebrated in some of rural towns nia to the rest of his country still a normal working day.

Also some countries some of their holiday may be more than a day. Eg in Taiwan their CNY ish a week of PH, but for us only 2 days, and fullmoon festival to them ish a PH, but to us only jiak mooncake nia. Same for dragonboat festival and qingming also, to them ish PH to us ish just another working day. Sad

You included the unofficial golden weeks?
Some countries including japan and europe also have unofficial long breaks.
maybe that is the reason they working hour annually is much lower than ours
though weekday is comparable to ours.
eg Ger work hours per week they not the lowest but in annual aspect they are the lowest

Jap too, despite clocking higher OT than Sg, their annual work hours is much lower than ours.
Us is similar.

However it is not recommended for Sg to have too long break or holidays.
More holidays can be included as AI and part timer number grow but not these few years.
Sg used to have 18 holidays before independence.
