Never learn their lessons, esp Ah Shame
Wait arh . . . must digest numbers.

ST reported 4.2% jobless Residents ( Citizens + PRs + work pass + LTVP + Student pass . . . ) @ March 2021.

4.2% X 5.7 Million ( estimate as this year SingStats slow with population data ending 30 June 2021) = 239,400 jobless.

I think Leong's data is too conservative.

.
These govt unemployment numbers are not complete.

Numbers come from a household survey.

If you are unemployed and stop looking for job, you are not counted as unemployed.

Who Is Counted As Unemployed?

As per common international definition, unemployed persons are 15 years old and older, not currently working but are actively looking for a job and are able to work if offered.

Thus, because homemakers, retirees or people taking a sabbatical from work are not actively seeking employment, they are not considered unemployed.

Individuals who for health reasons are not able to accept employment, even if they wanted to, are also not considered unemployed.
