About 20% of people living in poor neighborhood faced problem with food. That was before the currentĀ  covid pandemic. Situation is likely worse now as poverty is a fast growing problem in S'pore.

While some temples and churches offer free food, they can be located too far from where the person is staying and they may not be able to afford cost of transport.

A food stamp programme is needed to ensure that such family have access to good nutrition.

Most developed countries have them. With rising poverty in Singapore, such a programme can help alleviate the effects of poverty.
Many areĀ  pushing for food stamp amounts to be increased from current levels in USA. It has been in place there for more than 60yrs.

In S'pore we don't have anything in place and high number are suffering from severe food insecurity.
