Along with the United Kingdom and Norway, Denmark is one of the first European countries to report such a meteoric rise of the mutant. At the same time attracting the attention of epidemiologists around the world.

"We are facing an unprecedented turning point, we are gradually leaving the paved roads of this pandemic to embark on tracks little mapped on the epidemiological level", confides Antoine Flahault, director of the Institute of Global Health in Geneva (Swiss).

"It's impossible to stop Omicron, in Denmark or elsewhere, says Troels Lillebaek. Now it's a matter of flattening the curve so as not to put too much strain on the healthcare system." This implies first of all, Antoine Flahault reminds us, "to regain as much control as possible on the Delta wave".
