Samsung share price jumped this morning….good news for shareholders.

With a degree from South Korea's top university and a doctorate from Harvard Business School, he has been groomed to take over the family firm.

The new boss had sat in the cell for quite some time until he was let go.

In August 2017 a court convicted him of the charges and sent him to prison for five years.

Charges against Lee included bribery, embezzlement, hiding assets overseas and perjury.

In February 2018, that sentence was halved, and the Seoul High Court decided to suspend the jail term, meaning he was free to go.

It may, or may not be, back to work as usual. Mr Lee wants to clear his name. Prosecutors want him back behind bars. 

Mr Lee has effectively been given a get-out-of-jail card... He has to keep redeeming himself.
