Dr William Wan, chairman of the advisory panel, said: “While noise is part and parcel of our daily lives, we must acknowledge that in some cases with prolonged exposure, it can become a serious issue that impacts the mental and physical well-being of residents.” Tell this to our Govt which is responsible for the overcrowding in S'pore where 80% of the population stay in pigeon holes up in the sky. Even farm animals living cheek by jowl will go crazy in no time.
Goh Chok Tong promised S'poreans a Swiss Standard of Living, but we only have the Swiss Cost of Living. That is the "quality of life" in the Lion City.

So Students must study at Starbucks or Changi Airport instead
Because HDB is just too noisy all the time from day to night
Worst is, when you house is next to major roadways.

So far, Town Council does not control both of these for the 7th Month Activities

Daily is continue knocking, hacking, drilling etc literally everywhere around SG....

Mine is worst
Low floor, next to carpark and near the road with open space that fits 60-100 pax for all activities
Beside another space for smaller group 20-25 pax exercise
I got one crazy neighbour will book the open space after 7th Month every year
to burn paper front and back of the block starting 8am for many days
to sing for the ghost with errie horrible instruments from 9am to 9pm
to pray and chant starting from 8am till night
to add lion dance and drums for the ghost quite a few times in a day
NEA could not hear me talk and shout and just hung up on me
It was around 100DB those few days

Honestly speaking, events noise , people talking loud etc " Still ok " Wait till your side got any BTO , condo construction or daily road works. Is more mental damage , those Drilling sounds, hacking etc is more Irriating than events noise , people talking etc.
I already got it in 2021, 2022 . . .
New BTO, road construction, PUB piping, new bust-stop . . .
Jac Lau said his daughter and her old husband bought BTO there
But that noise is not as loud as my crazy Toaist neighbour occupying all the public space
