The CIA will need a lot of luck with that. The Chinese leadership has extremely tight controls. Also, the US has a lack of locals who are fluent with the Chinese language and culture let alone trying to deal with espionage in China. The inverse is far easier i.e. infiltrating the Pentagon and the White House.

Huh? They have succeeded to a certain degree in HK. Those pro democracy riots in 2019-2020 didn’t start from nothing. There was a lot of NED and CIA funding. It’s been an open secret for years.

If street protests are the best the CIA can do to China, I would just laugh. What they want is some form of infiltration and spying at the higher levels which they are not going to get.
