running out of energy is not a privilege of ev cars . ice car can also run out of petrol if stuck in jam long enough.

problem is ev car is the battery will degrade with each charge cycle. so over the years the battery full charge become lesser just like your mobile phone. but when need to change a set is much more expensive in the thousands and not tens of dollars.
