SHAH ALAM – The six suspects who kidnapped a 12-year-old girl in Klang had tried to sell her off to a prostitution ring, said the Malaysian police.

Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan said the deal fell through after the perpetrators found out that the police had released information on the girl’s disappearance to the public.

The police believed she had later got into a car with the suspects after she recognised one of the women in the vehicle. “She knew one of them as the ex-girlfriend of her brother,” Datuk Hussein said.
