The report on Europe's civilian and military preparedness, published on Wednesday, was written by former Finnish President Sauli Niinistö in his capacity as Special Adviser to the President of the European Commission.

As part of this strategy, the EU should advise households to be prepared to be self-sufficient for a minimum of 72 hours in the event of an emergency, the report says.

A survey cited in the report outlines various essential supplies for households to have in case of an emergency, including stockpiles of food, drinks and medicine, a flashlight and battery-powered radio.

The 165-page report was presented to EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Wednesday.

If Putin denies Ukraine statehood, there will be a big war. Nuclear war. Another issue is Ukraine's joining the EU and NATO.

What kind of food to stockpile and how much for war scenario har?

War wil be inevitable if Putin continues to be aggressive and threaten EU. Ukraine shd not falls to Russia, otherwise, all those smaller EU countries wil be at stake.

Basic staple food such as rice, flour, sugar, oil, etc... lah!  Not forgetting drinking water lah!

European countries people already prepared. They air-dried apples, prune...

The difficult part is how much? One month, one year or five years. I think one year and if war still not over better become refugee in Malaysia.

Alternatively they can migrate to any Asian countries or Down Under lah!  No war in Malaysia lah!

How Russia’s wars left deep scars in Georgia & Moldova. Voters have backed political forces that favour closer Moscow ties despite seeing their country’s future in Europe. Kremlin’s wars left deep wounds in their communities. They saw their own country’s future in Europe, not Russia.

Yet in election in Georgia, a referendum in Moldova last mth, polls widely seen as pivotal tests of whether future path of this 2 former Soviet republics lay with Europe, their opted for political forces favoured closer ties with Moscow, fearing a pro-western govt might provoke Kremlin into a new war. 

Election results 2 small politically significant countries underscore challenge the EU faces in expanding into territories Moscow views as part of its sphere of influence. Georgia ruling party viewed by most countries as increasingly a Moscow-friendly & anti-liberal won parliamentary election last Saturday was marred by reports of voting violations anti-pro EU, into a war.

And in Moldova, only a razor-thin majority backed a key referendum of joining EU, while country’s pro-western president, Maia Sandu, faces a tough election runoff this Sunday against a candidate who called for a “reset” of relations w/Kremlin.

Last mth, Guardian visited Moldova & Georgia. In both countries, many voiced concerns about living under looming shadow of Russia’s war in Ukraine. Many grappled with what they perceived as harsh necessity of preserving peace – a reality often overshadowed the allure of EU integration.
