The reality is that Ukraine is retreating, practically everywhere Russia advances – and it is advancing at a pace unseen for at least a year. Daily updated maps show how the occupied area of Donbas, usually marked in a shade of red, is expanding, or how the lands of Kursk Oblast, occupied by Ukrainians in the summer, are being retaken .
"Russia's advances in Russia" - this almost meme-like point of the legend of these maps has already brought back half of what was rightly considered an incredible Ukrainian success in August. And that was before Moscow's North Korean allies entered the action, whose effectiveness on the battlefield today no one can predict. In Donbas, Ukraine is losing control over more villages, settlements, towns and cities located west of Donetsk, that is, everywhere where the Russians were attacking with great intensity, but without much success just a few months ago. Ukraine is clearly losing the defensive campaign in Donbas.
