This has been explained several years back in the previous sgtalk, I think.
They are descendants of the indigenous natives, before the Europeans reached the Americas. Same as the South Americans. They look more Asians than Caucasians if they descended from a not so mixed line.

There are many Indians in S'pore and Malaysia who claim to be "Eurasians" as well.
